Campaign for Gaza

This campaign is in coalition with the EIS (the union representative of Napier University staff) and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign calling for the cancelling of the Eden Springs contract which supplies water to Napier, non-monetary aid for Gazan students and 10 new scholarships for Gazan students. Following recent moves by an ever increasing number of universities responding to nationwide protests against the recent Israeli atrocities in Gaza we are calling on Napier University to break its silence and publicly adopt a stance in solidarity with the Palestinian people. By aligning the University with a notorious Israeli violator of international law (Eden Springs) we believe this institution is being brought into disrepute in the eyes of millions around the world.

To this we the undersigned call upon Napier University to:

· immediately cancel its contract with Eden Springs on humanitarian grounds

· send non-monetary aid to the staff and students at the Islamic University of Gaza

· to establish twinning with Universities throughout Palestine and promote academic exchanges and the establishment of mutual support networks for staff and students

· offer 10 scholarships to Palestinian students to study at Napier University
